Our 11 General Orders (Core Values)

General Order 1 Be an Active serving member and cherish my church membership

To take charge of this post

as a Born Again follower of Jesus Christ I have been called to serve through my local church, and my post is Lone Star Church. I will also cherish my membership and those whom I worship and serve alongside as gifts from God, not to be taken for granted.  1 Corinthians 12:26-27; Ephesians 2:11-22; 5:22-33

General Order 2 Walk is nothing less than Outstanding

To walk my post in a Christian manner.  We are ambassadors of Christ and must hold ourselves to that high standard.  Everything we do as followers of Christ should be of the highest standard.  Only the best for our Lord.  Christ deserves our best every time.  Colossians 3:23; Ephesians 6:16-20

General Order 3 Integrity

To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce. Doing the right thing takes courage.  We are committed to Integrity at Lone Star Church and will not compromise the truth of the Gospel as a church or in our walk.   Joshua 1:7

General Order 4 Evangelism

To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guardhouse than my own. As born again believers in Christ it is our primary mission to GO and win the lost to Christ and make disciples.  Every Veteran and First Responder understand the idea of no man left behind.  It is our goal that no one gets left behind from going to heaven.  We will tell everyone about Christ.  Romans 1:16, 1 Cor 9:22; Jude 1:21-23

General Order 5 Never Quit

To quit my post only when properly relieved. But you don’t quit!  Suck it up and press on!  Faker will fall out but warriors will press on to the end. Don’t quit on yourself and don’t quit on Him. Being a soldier for Christ we must endure to the end when the Lord relieves you.      1 Corinthians 9:24

General Order 6 Discipleship

To receive, obey and pass on to the sentry who relieves me all orders from the commanding officer, officer of the day, and officers and noncommissioned officers of the guard only. We will learn the Word of God and faithfully study it and apply it to our lives and we will be faithful to pass that on to others so they too can know Christ.  Personal discipleship and witnessing is essential to the Christian walk.  1 Tim 4:13; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; Romans 10:17

General Order 7 Pray for Pastor and Church Leaders

I will lift up my pastor and his wife and family in prayer daily. I will also pray for other church leaders asking God to bless and protect them and to give them wisdom and discernment.  I will pray that God will keep him/them from harm and snares and God leads them in the way they should go for Christ.  I will be a praying church member.  Romans 15:30-32; Colossians 4:2-4; Ephesians 6:16-20; 1 Thessalonians 5:25; 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2; Hebrews 13:18

General Order 8 Priorities Matter

  • I will make sure to honor God with my time, my life, my service and my finances.  Where a man spends his money and his time is where true love is.  Put God in His right place in your life and with your time, and with your giving.  Matthew 22:37; Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Mark 12:41-44

General Order 9 There is help/Not alone

  • To call the corporal of the guard in any case not covered by instructions. There is no Army of one in Gods Kingdom.  We are the body of Christ and we are stronger and honor God when we come together.  We need each other to hold each other accountable and to help each other when we stumble or are wounded.  No one left behind.  Hebrews 10:25

General Order 10 All about Service

  • To serve all people as Christ modeled for us.  Not Semper me.  We are not our own, to be more Christ like means we serve others as He has commanded.  It’s not about my personal preferences it’s about reaching others for Christ. Galatians 2:20, John 13:1-17; Phil 2:1-11

General Order 11 Vigilant

  • To be especially watchful at night, and during the time for challenging/war, to challenge all persons on or near my post and to allow no one to pass without proper authority. Life is tough, so is the Christian walk and service.  Face the enemy and don’t quit, you fall get back up! Be prepared to give an answer for your faith for all who ask, study your Bible.  Be prepared for Spiritual Battle.  2 Corinthians 1:8-9; 2 Timothy 2:3; Ephesian 6:16; 1 Timothy 1:18-19
